Circle of Wisdom is a gathering place for urban Indigenous Elders and seniors. Together, we are creating a village within our community, a place where people are welcomed, respected, supported, and cared for. Guided by the Seven Grandfather Teachings of Wisdom, Love, Respect, Bravery, Honesty, Humility, and Truth, we strive to walk together in a good way.

Through Wahkohtowin, we remember that we are all related. What affects one person affects the Circle. Our Elders teach us that strong communities are built through kindness, honesty, respect, and a shared responsibility to look after one another.
Through Si’kaan, we create a place of warmth, safety, and protection. When concerns are brought forward, we listen with open hearts and open minds. We take time to understand, to hear each person’s story, and to ensure everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
Through Kîtwâmêw, we work to restore balance when something is not right. We believe trust grows when people speak honestly, take responsibility for their actions, and work together toward understanding, healing, and positive change.
Through Making Relatives, we strengthen relationships and deepen our sense of belonging. Elders’ voices guide us. Every person has value, every voice matters, and each of us shares a responsibility for helping keep our Circle strong, healthy, and respectful for future generations.
Our Protecting Our Circle Policy provides a confidential, fair, and trauma-informed process for raising concerns about safety, misconduct, discrimination, misuse of resources, or other situations that may cause harm within our community. We welcome concerns brought forward in good faith and are committed to ensuring people can speak up without fear of being treated unfairly.
Guided by Wahkohtowin, Si’kaan, Kîtwâmêw, and Making Relatives, Circle of Wisdom continues to learn from the wisdom and lived experiences of Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and seniors as we build a village within our community where people feel safe, valued, heard, and respected.
